New Postal Service song may be a hoax

You have got to love the internet people. After getting all excited about the "new Postal Service song," The Importance of Being, I have been reading a lot on the Web about it being a fake.
Here's what I know. Derek over at Good Weather for Airstrikes says the song is legit, but others are going all out saying it's a fake.
I like the song, and right now I don't give a damn who recorded it!
