They haven’t even sung their first note yet, but I’m confident in saying that Elliot will be leaving American Idol this week. How can I be so sure?
Tonight the contestants are singing the music of Elvis Presley. The King Baby! So, who’s going to have this one locked? Taylor and Chris, that’s who. Taylor looks like he has been dying to throw down a little less conversation and a little more action, and Chris will have no problem Memphisizing his rock persona.
While Katharine may be the odd man (woman) out, but she’s got enough umpah to keep going to next week.
Then there’s Elliot. I like Elliot - not as much as I liked Kevin (Why Moby? Why did you have to go?) - but Elliot doesn’t have the Elvis chops. His voice is warm and inviting. He jumps when he sings and waves back and forth like a cross between Kid Rock and Barry Manilow.
But I’ve seen Elvis, and Elliot...you ain’t no Elvis. Bruce Campbell? Now there’s an Elvis.
But I’ll be watching tonight. Who know, I could be wrong! Hey! Does anyone know about any public American Idol Finale parties like at a bar or something? And what are the rest of you going to do in June on Tuesday and Wednesday nights?
