BREAKING NEWS (NO I'M NOT KIDDING)

The site reported "each of the films, "Star Wars" (1977), "The Empire Strikes Back," (1980), and "Return of the Jedi" (1983) will be released separately and will be accompanied by a second disc offering the digitally reedited version ... They will be withdrawn from circulation on Dec. 31."
The official Star Wars Web site confirms the release date.
Well, it's about time George Lucas listened!
Now if he would just release "Howard The Duck" on DVD, everything would be right with the world!!!

He named his duck Howard? That's cool!
I have resisted buying the special edition DVDs for Star Wars in protest that he was not releasing the original versions.
In fact, for some time, Lucas was saying there were no good prints of the original to transfer to DVD, making the original a "lost film."
I'll still by these when they come out, but I was pretty bitter about that statement when I heard it, especially since he released the originals on VHS a couple of years before.
