And then the world changed. All of the left over ‘80s dance music, hair metal and boring Alt rock had gone stale. Nirvana woke everybody up. No one expected the CD to go anywhere. No one expected to Nirvana to outsell Soundgarden. No one ever expected that Kurt Cobain’s gravelly voice and often incomprehensible lyrics would have moved the world the way it did. And with one scream, thousands of heavy metal rockers were out of work and a sea of disillusioned teens raised on NKOTB and Michael Bolton got really pissed off.
