Thoughts on last week

The only thing I wrote about last week, and it was like a sentence or two, was Antonella Barba finally getting the boot off of American Idol. That was sweet.
I did agree with Simon that she had taken a lot of shots in the media, but she shouldn’t have been there in the first place. She got there on looks, and looks alone — and that’s not right!
And I’m not surprised that Sundance got the boot, he started strong, but then blew it on stage with some bad song choices. But I’m shocked Sanjaya and Haley made it into the top 12.
Haley’s song was atrocious. It was so syrupy sweet that I needed a waffle to clean up my house! And Sanjaya? What’s up with him? Maybe it’s because I’m not a 13-year-old girl, but I just don’t get it!
In other news, Brad Delp (the lead singer of Boston) and comedian Richard Jeni died over the weekend. Jeni’s death was apparently a suicide and Delp’s death is under investigation.
300, the movie, is the first blockbuster of 2007, taking in $70 million at the box office. I haven’t seen it, but it looks sweet!
The Simpsons was funny this weekend. That’s not really news, but the show still has a few surprises up its sleeve.
Snoop Dogg was arrested in Sweden for drug possession. Yeah, didn’t see that one coming.
Apparently they made a prequel to The Dukes of Hazzard. Yeah, I didn’t see that one coming either!
Anna Nicole and James Brown are still dead. They are also still in the news. We need some new stories... and pronto!
