Movie Rumor!!!

A remake of Sam Raimi's classic low budget slasher, The Evil Dead, is in the works.
According to the Internet Movie Database, the film will be directed by Rob Zombie and wil be released in 2008. No one is attached to star (though I have a feeling Bruce Campbell will make an appearance somewhere in the film).
Sam Raimi, who is busy finishing Spiderman 3, is producing the remake.
The Evil Dead was released in 1981 and slowly became a cult classic.
The film was followed by two sequels, The Evil Dead 2 in 1987 (which was pretty much the same movie with more gore and better visuals) and The Army of Darkness (an unofficial sequel) in 1992. Bruce Campbell starred in all three movies.
Rumors of a fourth installment have been floating around the Internet for over a decade, but Campbell and Raimi have both said there would be no sequel because Army of Darkness failed to bring in the big bucks at the box office.
